it seems i have neglected this blog again. i do sincerely apologize.  i must inform you, however, that the absence has not been in vain.  as vintage heart nears the day when she will open her doors, i have found myself polishing up the shop and running around like a, well, crazy person.  below are a few before and after of our humble little shop.

welcome home, have a seat.

that is the location of this soon-to-be humble coffeehome.  

it has been a long road to this point, with several properties presenting themselves as a perfect nesting space, but none so perfect as this.

one year ago i moved to austin to begin all the ground work for creating this shop in our quaint big city. funny thing is, i found this exact property the second day i lived in town. to my dismay, at the point, the site wasn't for lease. i may or may not have creeped around it, peeking through the windows, several times throughout the course of the last year. 

soon after the holidays, i drove past on a whim and saw the magical 'for lease' sign. i immediately sent my broker (who is absolutely stellar - should you ever need one) into overdrive to make this happen.

a couple months have passed and it was worth the wait. here we are, home.

be looking for renovation updates. there is much work to be done and i would enjoy nothing more than having you all be a part of it. also, feel free to be so excited you can't contain yourself. i know i am.

also, i know this is completely shameless, but i have wanted to post this little diddy on here for this very occassion for an entire year. so just pretend it's new and adorable still. great.

i scan the interwebs fairly regularly in an attempt to keep myself fresh on current coffee culture as well as looking for great resources to share with staff and, well, you.

quite recently, i had a friend pass along a blog of sorts and i felt as though i just must share.

it is rare that i am taken back by reviews, general content, industry and craft knowledge and design elements.  this little site hits all three.

i encourage you to click around and read a bit of what this coffee traveler has found while traipsing around the globe. the article you will find first (four barrel) is particularly interesting and will most certainly be a topic of discussion here shortly.

 i have always been somewhat of a summer girl. okay, i have always been unabashedly a summer girl. with my (somewhat) recent move to the lone star state i have had to break up with summer and move on to a new season.

autumn, i'm yours.

the crisp air and clear skies beckon to be enjoyed and i look forward to providing a cozy porch and some warm coffee for you to enjoy this season better.some exciting things are going on over here, promise.

 in the next couple of weeks you can look forward to:

a ridiculous announcement. yes.
a reveal of some new branding. i know, you're pumped.
a functioning website. everyone can breathe that we will be leaving blogger and entering into the 'real' internet world.
